About Us

WHO WE ARE

The North Carolina Chapter of the Public Sector Human Resources Association (PSHRA) is a community of dedicated HR professionals committed to advancing public sector human resources in the state. We are the largest group of public sector Human Resources professionals in the State of North Carolina. As a chapter of PSHRA, our mission is to equip public sector HR professionals with the tools, resources, and networks they need to enhance their organizations and serve the public more effectively. Representing more than 60 cities, counties, and state government agencies, PSHRA NC is the premier organization for public sector human resource professionals.

WHAT WE DO

In addition to our annual conference which travels across the State, PSHRA NC proudly hosts professional development opportunities throughout the year. This includes continuing education credits for those already certified, as well as education opportunities toward gaining the PSHRA Certified Professional (CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SCP) Designation. 

We connect public HR professionals with their peers across the state to help enhance knowledge and improve the professional brand of public HR professionals.

Professional Development: We offer training, workshops, and certification programs tailored to the unique needs of public sector HR professionals. Our programs help members stay current with evolving HR trends, laws, and best practices.

 Networking Opportunities: The NC Chapter of PSHRA provides numerous opportunities for members to connect, collaborate, and share experiences with other HR professionals across the state. Through conferences, roundtables, and local events, we build a strong support network for continuous growth and development.

 Advocacy: We actively advocate for policies and practices that support and enhance public sector HR. By staying informed about legislative changes, we help shape the future of HR in government and public organizations.

Resources and Support: Our chapter is dedicated to providing valuable resources, such as toolkits, publications, and access to expert advice, enabling our members to make informed decisions in their daily work.

WHY WE NEED YOU

The NC Chapter of PSHRA serves HR professionals working in federal, state, and local government, as well as educational institutions and other public sector entities. Our members come from diverse backgrounds but share a common goal: to drive excellence in human resources and improve public service delivery.
